How to use the data

Note: These calculation processes can only be used with performance data featured on the Appendix Q website. If the system being specified is not included in the database then Appendix Q is not applicable.

For detailed guidance on how to incorporate data into SAP calculations via Appendix Q please download the file for the relevant technology type at the bottom of this page.

In addition to calculation data the relevant Installation Checklist or Certificate must be completed, signed, and submitted to Building Control.  These can be found in Installation Checklists.

Clarification of the filename changes to the heat pump spreadsheet:

If the version number and date of the spreadsheet on the website differs from a previous spreadsheet you have downloaded, this indicates that the spreadsheet has been amended.

If only the date has changed, this indicates that new products have been added.

A mechanical ventilation (MV) system that is integral to a heat pump system is assessed using the Heat Pump data and calculation spreadsheet below.

If the MV system is separate from the heat pump system, then the SAP assessment should be completed with the MV system specified.  The SAPQ heat pump spreadsheet should then be completed.  The assessment must be done in this order
